Every tree has a story. Several if you listen closely. They are happy to share. That is how they teach. My conversations with trees are often intimate but their wisdom is to be shared. So I will begin sharing more, my conversations with my Kindred Spirits. The stories that live within them and me.
Below is the story of a Stump I will call Sam
Some trees have to be cut down to grow stronger. I was too proud. I was the biggest and strongest tree around me and thought that made me the authority. My pride became bigger than my rock. One day, they came and cut my trunk. Now people use me as a resting place. Humility is what it taught me. And because I sit so low now I see the power and beauty in those that surround me. All shapes and sizes.
Sam’s story is a common one. We’ve seen it play out in many arenas. No one is greater than the other. Humility is an important lesson we all must learn. Maybe it has appeared in your own life.
I welcome your stories in the comments if you would like to share.
What has humility taught you?
Take good care, friends
